Hi, I’m Adam. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for the past 17 years. In the last 14 years I’ve moved over from restaurants to the technology / IT space in the industry, and I’m now IT Director for a group of restaurants which I’ve seen grow from having 6 to 45 sites. I initially found the Eden Dora Trust many years ago when I was asked to assist with the hosting of their web services. After speaking to Petrina, it was clear she had a long-lasting passion and drive for the charity, so I agreed to help with anything she/the charity needed. Over the years I’ve worked with the charity I’ve kept myself up to date with, followed and admired their growth. I’m honoured to be given the chance to be a trustee of the Eden Dora Trust and shall support the charity as much as possible as they continue to change the lives of children with Encephalitis.
Hi, I’m Julianne. I’m a partner at the national law firm Irwin Mitchell, have specialised in medical negligence for over 17 years, and lead a large team of Medical Negligence lawyers. One of my key interests and areas of expertise is Acquired Brain Injury claims: working on these cases has allowed me to see first-hand the impact of Acquired Brain Injuries and Encephalitis on a child and their family, as well as showing me how vital a charity like The Eden Dora Trust is.
Seeing the invaluable support the Eden Dora Trust offers families following a diagnosis, together with their passion to raise awareness of Childhood Encephalitis, the natural next step was for me to support the charity by becoming a trustee.
To see what they have accomplished in the last 5 years from a standing start, and the families they have helped, is tremendous. It is an honour to be a Trustee and to help continue that journey.
I was very honoured to be asked to be a trustee - I couldn’t wait to take up the role in helping to make a real difference to children with Encephalitis as I know how close to Petrina’s heart the trust is . Being a local trust was an important part for me and on getting to know Petrina and her family it was clear how passionate they were to help others after what they had experienced. Being a coffee shop owner and caterer for some years now I hope my knowledge of business will both help and progress raising awareness for the trust.
I am so proud to say I am a trustee of the Eden Dora Trust for Children with Encephalitis. I have known Petrina for over 25 years and her children for all of their lives. When Eden was admitted to hospital, the only way to find out anything about Childhood Encephalitis was to google it and get lots of jumbled info - most people, including me, had never ever heard anything about it. I hope to help The Eden Dora Trust raise awareness so that everyone knows about this terrible illness and the life changing effects it leaves you with. I was honoured to be asked to be a trustee, and hope that my career in finance will be of a good help.
I have worked as a Business Development Manager for the National Skills Academy Nuclear (NSAN) for the last six years: focussing on researching, developing and managing training programmes and consultancy projects. Before this, I was the lead for the aerospace and composites sectors: working in the engineering skills field since 1998. I am a very passionate supporter of The Eden Dora Trust for Children with Encephalitis, having already taken part in a number of events and activities as part of the Fundraising Committee. Now, as a trustee, I am finding new opportunities to further raise the profile of the charity, and expand its reach and resources to allow them to help even more families affected by Childhood Encephalitis across the UK.
I have a degree in Accountancy and Financial management plus 20 years experience in Banking and Corporate Finance. I am proud to be a Trustee of a charity representing such an outstanding cause and a personal friend of the founders and their amazing children.
